Now Hospitals/Medical facilities can receive a cash payment of Rupees 2 lakhs or more from Covid Patients.
Section 269ST of Income Tax act 1961, has been relaxed for a period of 1st April 2021 to 31st May 2021.
Actually, Section 269ST prohibits any person to receive an amount of rupees 2 lakhs or more In Cash.
However, now amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, the Government has relaxed this section for Hospitals and other medical facilities providing treatment to covid-19 patients.
Also, It shall be noted that it is mandatory to obtain the PAN or AADHAR of the Patient and the payee and the relationship between them.
